Odd looking yet interesting.

Too bad it's just a rendering.

The gold here is far too bright and shiny for my taste.

And the rims rendered above are okay, but they are made for a Renault and that makes me feel like they aren't up to par.

The main thing i'm getting at here is design of wheel, never mind the color, that varies quite a lot and when you buy high end wheels like this, there's a wide range of colors to choose from.

Not a fan of the way those gold rims sinks into the middle. Or is it the angle of the picture?

That's due to the wheel having a deep negative offset for an aggressive setup.

This should help to illustrate the variation in wheel offsets:

Think I'll stick with zero offset.
Found this warning on discount tires about negative offset tires:
Quote:
Note that extensive negative offset can potentially cause increased steering wheel kick-back and place additional stresses on the vehicle's entire suspension

Are there actually any benefits to have different offsets or is it just for cosmetic purposes?

For cosmetic purposes I know it helps with fitting in a wider wheel without it poking out the body. Some guys will want to run a wider tire for more traction but for the most part, when it's done like this, it's for cosmetic reasons.

If you change and use a wheel with offset too different from OEM by more than say 5 or so mm,you'll probably need to change wheel alignment to account for the geometry changes else affect handling and tire wear. And even if you do change and adjust, there will be limits to how different you can account for. So check the details before committing to purchase.
