New Mitsubishi 3000GT Concept

So apparently the new mitsubishi 3000GT concept is rendered off the 2016 Acura NSX:

Quote:
The 3000GT was one of many commendable lower and higher end sports cars to come out of Japan in the 1990s, ranging from the Mazda MX-5, Honda CR-X II, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO and Nissan 200SΧ, to the original Honda / Acura NSX, Mazda RX-7 Mk3, Nissan 300ZX, Subaru SVX and Toyota Supra Mk4. I know what an amazing decade that was for Japanese performance cars.

Abdelaziz tells us that he based his rendering of the 2017 Mitsubishi 3000GT on the upcoming 2016 Honda NSX and specifically on the concept. It actually looks a whole lot better than what it sounds.
Interesting....

The partially modeled it after this? Don't really see the resemblance.

If Mitsubishi can make it something along the lines of their version of the Porsche Cayman, then they can do very, very well in the segment but if they go forward with this I can only imagine it happening with them partnering up with another brand. Can't see it happening any other way, not worth the risk.

Didn't Mitsubishi release a concept model for the 2017 3000GT last year?

so which one is the concept? The red 2017 3000GT has that rectangular door panel similar to the one found on the older NSX model while the grey one has similar roofline and headlights to the new NSX concept.

Well the one right above is real, original one posted was just a rendering. Plus with some quick research you'll find that the model we see above is indeed real. It's just too bad there isn't much information out on it.

I think this is a front shot of it and it reminds me of iron man more than the Acura NSX with that hood vent.

Make the grille gold and you got iron man 3000GT! lol

I don't know about the matte black hood tho. looks off on the exterior color.

If the 3000gt is really modeled after the new NSX, we could be seeing two large air vents in the production model for air flow and engine cooling. The acura NSX has two smaller vents on either side of the large one in the bumper. Seems to be the new trend with cars these days.
