Think China will copy the Acura NSX?

China's auto industry is huge even with the recent slowdown and the Chinese companies most likely wants to profit while doing the least amount of work.

If they can copy a luxury brand like Porsche, what's stopping them from copying Acura's NSX?

Porsche Cayman

I don't think you'll get the same power and technology, but in terms of design alone, I think the Chinese will copy it if it's popular enough to sell.

Poor Acura, their Acura MDX has apparently been cloned already. Only a matter of time I guess.

Most successful vehicles are cloned in China. As they say, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".

I would think that cars that are more popular and have the potential to sell more volume would be better candidates for CHinese knock-offs.

I don't think hyper cars are actually that popular in China. Not compared to luxury sedans and SUVs at least. Chinese people like to be driven in their car rather than driving them.

At this point in time, the RDX is more likely to be copied than the NSX.

I think Chinese don't like Japanese vehicles as much as German and Italian vehicles, don't think there's a good chance we'll see it happen and I wouldn't want to see it happen.

That's also a good point. China and Japan have a distaste for one another. They tend to like the Americans and and the Europeans more in terms of style and business.

Sorry that I have to ask this, but is it really a copy or a parallel import rebranded for the Chinese. I mean. You know how different car models are called different things in different countries right? It's possible that it's just called something else to appeal to the Chinese sense of superstition in the characteristics of different animals. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some dragon branded car somewhere to be honest.
