NightWing I think the 4C was produced something like 3000 a year or something ? Really not limited at all.

1fastAcura Just a sports car, maybe a high end sports car, sort of like what the 4C from Alfa Romeo is. Some people don't even consider the NSX to be a supercar, some do, then some are in the middle.. suggesting its very entry level.

Shawn The ZSX won't be a "supercar" either. Which would make sense to produce a lot more of them opposed to the NSX.

1fastAcura Might be safe to say if/when the ZSX comes to market it won't be restricted like this, instead we might see more versions of it come to market, so then they leverage pulling more money from consumers that way and to make the product special in some ways.

Shawn Definitely. The dealers are going to be taking advantage of that too and they'll be marking up that price as well. Cash in on it whilst they can.

1fastAcura It's also a play on maintaining value since being limited it's easy to get people to pay whatever is asked. With 100 models for xxxx amount of interested buyers, there will be a percentage that will pay anything.

FastAndFurious That's just 100 NSX for the first year, not forever. Honda will ship more if needed and it's not exactly the most affordable car in Japan thanks to the country's additional import taxes.

Shawn I've also read that initially they had a target of 6,000 units over three years. Also adding, it's not 800 worldwide. 800 is going to North America and 100 is going to Japan.

NightWing Doesn't necessarily mean the country that it was produced in has a high concentration of enthusiasts. It typically just breaks down to cost. We need to see more of specifics as to where the other 700 are heading and what the split is looking like on that front.

Japan Only Getting 100 NSX

According to Torque News, first year production for the NSX worldwide is 800 and only 100 units are set for Japan. I though they'd give the country a larger allotment of units since the original NSX was engineered and manufactured there. That means the country has a high concentration of NSX enthusiasts.
