|\|SX They did.

Quote:
Only a few minutes had passed—if even that long—since the sweet new 2016 Acura NSX rolled onstage at the Detroit auto show in all of its 550-plus-hp, all-wheel-drive, hybridized, torque-vectoring awesomeness before rumors swirled about even burlier versions. And then reports, including one from AutoExpress, stated definitively that Acura has confirmed—confirmed!—that an NSX Type R is on the way.

While the quotes that AutoExpress published from NSX lead engineer Ted Klaus don’t specifically convince us that a Type R is a done deal, they do whet our appetite. “I think everyone who loves cars wants to see a version that we say is pure red,” Klaus was quoted as saying. “The NSX has always been silver first, moving towards red later. Someone asked me, ‘when will you be satisfied?’ Probably never. What you do today, you can improve on tomorrow.”
Higher-Performance Acura NSX On the Way? ? News ? Car and Driver | Car and Driver Blog

RedNSX Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere so I didn't really thin about it. Did Acura mention it somewhere?

1fastAcura Well this is the NSX, you don't actually think they'll just keep improved sportiness just to the interior do you? That would be ridiculous. Making it a well rounded package with performance along with interior bits is what they'll do.

RedNSX Don't remember a higher engine trim for the NSX. Or are you talking about interior package trims?

02-22-2016 01:39 PM
|\|SX That's a good point, we might be seeing a sportier steering wheel in that higher trim NSX Acura was talking about way back. If they do things like that it will go a long way to shape the brands image as it relates to real performance models.

FastAndFurious Maybe even keep that race car steering wheel for future performance models.

mr.smith Moving the interior to something more along the lines of the Precision concept would be really cool. That clean look is totally the future and making a halo sedan using such design ieas would really make a statement that Acura is playing with the big boys.

RedNSX What I would like to see is the removal of those buttons in the center console so we just have a touch screen like the Precision.

So much cleaner looking.

|\|SX Will be interesting to see what the grille looks like on production models with what ever changes to the grille that may come. Really want to see this happen to the RLX since its in need of a move like this and the concept was basically a sedan.

mr.smith That sounds like a waste of money...

I was disappointed not the see the Precision concept in Toronto, but I guess Acura thinks that Chicago is more important.
