Traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi by motorbike

How many miles from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi?

From Saigon to Hanoi, you have to travel a long distance of about 1730 km. This is a long way. Therefore, when you drive by motorbike, you need to have prepared before.

Travel by motorbike from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi

Despite the long-distance, many people choose motorbikes as their means of transportation. Here are the routes you need to consider when traveling from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi.

First route: Through Highway 14 and Highway 1A
The road from Saigon to Hanoi is about 1,616 km in length. First, from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, you follow Truong Chinh in the direction of about 2.7 km to reach Xuyen A / Highway 22 in Tan Hung Thuan. At the roundabout, you take the 2nd exit and continue onto Xuyen A/Highway 22. After that, you go straight to Highway 22 through Vo Van Bich/ Provincial Road 741, Cach Mang Thang Tam and Phu Rieng Do to Highway 14 in Binh Phuoc province. From Dong Xoai town, you continue to follow the direction of Highway 14.
After that, you go straight on Highway 14B to Danang. From here, you turn left into the bypass road of Da Nang City to go to the tunnel leading to Hai Van Pass. After that, you keep going along Highway 1A through the central provinces to the Hanoi - Ninh Binh highway. Go straight on the highway you will come to Hanoi territory at Giai Phong - Ngoc Hoi. You go to the center of Hanoi City, follow Xa Dan, pass O Cho Dua and turn to Ton Duc Thang to Van Mieu.

Route 2: This route goes through the territory of 2 countries Laos and Cambodia.
This road from Saigon to Hanoi has a shorter distance, only 1.484 km. However, if you go this way, you have to go through the territory of two countries which are Laos and Cambodia. The route is similar to the route 1, but when you come to Tan Hung Thuan, you go to Highway13, NR7, Road National 7, NR7 and AH131 / Route 12 to 1E in Khammouane Province, Laos. From here, take route 1E to Route 8 at Lak Sao. Then, you follow the road AH 15 to Highway 8A. You go straight to Highway 8A to Vinh City, Nghe An Province. From here, you follow Highway 1A as in the first route to the center of Hanoi City.

Notes when exploring Hanoi
Bring necessary items
Not only traveling to Hanoi but going to any other place, you can not forget the necessary items from costumes, papers, money,... Identity papers such as your identity card, driver's license, small notebooks for taking notes, if needed. It is recommended to set aside a small space to store simple medical drugs and remember to bring special medicines. Because it will help you solve the primary problem if something goes wrong.
Another thing to remember is that tourism should not bring too much cash, especially when coming to Hanoi. You should carry ATM cards for a compact.
