How NSX Space Frame materials were used

After hearing from Acura and publications about how beneficial the space frame is to the NSX, here we finally get to see exactly how the various materials were used:

That's a lot of aluminum. As long as it's still providing you with sufficient protection. Would like to see how this body fares in the safety battering tests.

It's going to be safe, Honda/Acura creates some of the safest products in the classes it competes in.

We have yet to see crash test videos, those should come soon.

I"m surprised there is no carbon fiber at all listed here though. I knew that they used less of it to cut on costs, but I thought more than I'm seeing here.

Thought I read somewhere that they used carbon fiber for the floor but I guess that was false. Still would like to see it in crash test videos. Get a visual on how it crumples.

That information wasn't false, you're looking at a graphic that shows the vehicles frame, that would be why it's called the 'space frame'

Showing the floor panel here would be completely irrelevant.

I thought the floor would be part of the frame. Guess not.

Floor panel sits on top of the floor of the frame

I did have the same thought relating that floor. That's a lot of metal. As lengthy as it's still delivering with adequate security. Would like to see how this body system deals in the protection & proper assessments.

We most likely won't see a safety test report until a few months after the NSX has gone on sale.
