Future NSX Variants

Word from carbuzz is that two new variants of the NSX has been confirmed by the NSX project leader Ted Klaus himself!

Exactly what kind of variant has not been said but carbuzz thinks that one of them could come with a targa style removable top. Another suggestion is that Acura could come out with a NSX Type R.

We'll just have to see what they come up with in the future but this goes to show you that the NSX is indeed a halo car.

Please Acura, come out with the Type R and Targa. I won't mind having a fleet of NSX.

I don't see what it would be other than a Type R and then a Targa or Convertible. They will not do a sport brake in my opinion.

Guess it's just a matter of when the Type R will come out after the NSX shows up on the sales floors and how much power it'll have.

Guess you are right about that. I was just thinking of the Ferrari FF when I mentioned the sportbrake.

Wold they change the exterior the NSX for the Type R or leave it as is with minor adjustments?

There will likely be cosmetic differences. A bit different with the body kit. Maybe there will be a spoiler added. Different wheels. Things like that.

Maybe a wider body kit for the Type R but I hope they don't add a large spoiler to it. The bank end looks fine as is with that little spoiler jutting out.

I think that they just want to make sure that the NSX Type R looks distinct from the original model. The spoiler doesn't have to be large, but it will have to look distinct.

Check out the Civic hatchback compared to the Civic Type R.

Much like the rest of the brands Type R models, it's more than likely we'll see some colors unique to it. I wouldn't mind seeing a return of Championship White, or something that is an enhanced, modern version of it.
