Honda will be aiming to set a record for the longest Rose Parade float on January 1st, 2014, and the Acura NSX will be the star.

Measuring 274 feet in length, Honda's Rose Parade float will be towed by a locomotive that is inspired by the Acura NSX. The NSX will be driven by a ASIMO robot.

The NSX will be followed by a second train car that is a Honda Engine, and a third train car that is built to represent Honda's task-performing robotic arm. The fourth train will feature LED monitors measuring 30-feet wide and 10-feet tall. Finally, there will be a float inspired by HondaJet.

Since Hodna is the presenting sponsor of the parade for the fourth year, the Japanese automaker's float will lead the 2014 Rose Parade.

Another promotional appearance by the NSX prototype. It'll be nice seeing it again. I wonder what will be different about it as it is pulling a large float.

SO this is what the NSX part of the float looked like. Not quite what I imagined, but I'm sure it was fun to see in person.

Thought Asimo was going to drive the NSX itself and not the float. Interested to see how this turns out and if Asimo can operate a vehicle properly.
So the NSX itself won't be on the float?

Nope, the actual NSX won't be there but it will be at the parade in design. One of the floats, or all of them, are going to be powered by a special Honda hybrid low-emission engine, a nod to NSX's own hybrid engine.

I think the caboose is supposed to represent the Honda Jet. Not sure about the 3 floats in the middle.

They should just have an NSX show up wearing red nose and deer antlers
