Acura 30 Years Young

Acura is celebrating their 30 year milestone with a new ad and there's a lot of NSX shots in there including the older model. They're gunning for the Millennial shoppers, people who probably remembers them in the hay days.

Is it working? Kind of, I now want the NSX and a Honda bike to accompany it.

It should be working and an add like this should have a good 'shelf life' considering millennials at this point are at an age where they can easily justify the monthly payments for an Acura, then the cost of ownership over time. Just about any entry-level Luxury brand or brand with products that target a similar demographic applies this same logic of marketing.

You'd think they would capitalize on this and come out with a 30th anniversary special livery for the new NSX, they can charge more for it.

Well that's tough to do when the new NSX isn't even out yet. Usually those packages come out on a vehicle that has been out on the market for a while or just a year, sometimes 6 months. But Acura might be seeing significant upgrades as what's more suitable too the NSX than something typically done with a Civic, Accord, etc.

The most you'll probably get in relation to their anniversary is a mug or something like that with your purchase of a NSX. I like how everything leads up tot he final shot of the NSX. It's a culmination of years of manufacturing and design experience even though the Precision is their newest concept.

I know Acura is trying to target the younger generation with the 30 years "young" ad but their range just doesn't have much that appeals to the younger buyers like honda. They don't really have small cars that are popular these days or mid to low range sport cars.

Maybe Acura will come out with a more affordable two door hybrid coupe to target the masses or better yet, come out with an updated Integra.

Acura very well could come out with an updated Intergra. It may not have been on NSX's level but it was still had great handling and performance and there's probably quite a few enthusiasts out there who would want a new Integra.
