Acura Video Features NSX Manufacturing Project Leader

We've already seen the Acura NSX product planners give an interview of sorts and now it's the manufacturing project leader's turn.

Clement DíSouza is up next in the What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series. He's a mechanical engineer who has been with Honda for 26 years and he originally wanted to become an aerospace engineer but didn't have the necessary American citizenship to do it. Instead, he went with his second passion which was Honda motorcycles and without him, we may not have the NSX you see today.

Always great to see the people behind the product especially when it's a product people are extremely passionate about. Acura has been doing well with this so far on the NSX and pulling out all the cards they can on building that connection, something that's lacking in the industry today.

It's not just the Acura branch, Honda has a whole series dedicated to the people behind the company, not just the NSX. Great for motivating the next generation of engineers.

Great story for a great car.

I remember seeing something along the lines of this from Ford with their Ford Performance products which has me thinking if Acura/Honda did this just to play catch up and not feel left behind compared to another brand making moves similar to theirs.

Anyone know if there has been any progress on start of production?

Those with early build allocations, has your/their car been queued for assembly soon within the next month or so?

Haven't heard or seen a single thing since that all went down. I'm guessing it might just be insiders and those that work for Acura that will know at this point. It would help if we had people on here that were the first to place a deposit, they should have some insight.

Not only is it great to see someone so passionate about the product, but passionate about the company itself. You can tell he's genuinely excited and happy about the progression and the people he works with.

That's the great thing when the end goal is as good as the NSX, when its a lousy goal, it would be uncommon to find those that are passionate.

Can't picture a lot of employee's being really into the Civic as much as this guy and others were into the NSX.
