Auto Express’ NSX Guided Tour

We’ve seen plenty of NSX test drive reviews and in order to stand out, Auto Express has uploaded a NSX guided tour on YouTube. Their model is equipped with a carbon fiber spoiler and optional ceramic brakes.

He first points out the hints of Ferrari 488 in the styling, especially from the side and it’s really no surprise as Honda/Acura used a Ferrari as a benchmark during the R&D phase of the NSX. Incredibly, the NSX has 10 radiators and it looks “so squat” with a ground clearance of 94mm and an overall height of 1214 mm.

Most of his complaints comes from the NSX’s interior quality. The design is quite nice as is the leather material, but a few of the interior features reminds him of a Honda Civic. There’s the hard plastics, average key fob design, touch sensitive buttons on the infotainment screen are hard to use, and the Garmin sat nav doesn’t come standard. The interior just isn’t made for practicality as there’s hardly any storage space and the trunk has an odd bump in the middle.

But, that’s not what buyers are getting the NSX for. The hybrid powertrain and 9 speed automatic gearbox works very well and the visibility is amazing.

You can watch the full guided tour below and let us know what you think.

I wouldn't mind seeing larger option buttons on the infotainment screen and it's not that sensitive to touch. What bugs me is the lack of standard sat nav, it shouldn't eat into their profits to much to install a garmin nav.

Seeing Honda badges look weird to me, doesn't exactly flow with all the angular lines happening everyone else on the body. All the Honda emblems look 90's. It's one area Honda could have done something special with that wouldn't cost them much at all.

Wouldn't be surprised to see people rebadging these as Acuras.

The Honda badge is fine as is, but the NSX deserves more quality interior materials instead of hard plastic. There are vehicles out there that costs a lost less but has more soft plastics on the inside.

This review is done in a carbuyer style, where practicality and interior design is valued in a car that wasn't really built for that purpose. I do question his knowledge of the vehicle when he said it has no cup holders without mentioning the optional part.

If there's any proof that people don't care that much about the interior it's the GT-R. Sitting in one you'll feel like you stepped into an Altima. Even sitting in a Maxima is better for some people. It all comes down to what the vehicle does best for what it is and so far it achieves that.

Also this is an entry-level supercar, not everything can be great, but the fundamentals are.
