Don't think law enforcement will do much to him but this could limit the journalist's future in the industry. Doubt automakers will ever trust him again with a test vehicle, especially an expensive one like the NSX. You don't want to be know as the first person to crash an NSX, especially one that's traveled the world.

No doubt, action from law enforcement is not nearly as likely as slaps from Honda since that's who's really suffering here. This is not the sort of publicity they want and not the sort of cost they want to absorb, one less NSX allocated to journalists.

Lol, someone commented that the journalist who crashed the NSX is part of the Mustang Club of America. Those guys are known for crashing and driving into crowds.

The Mustang driving into crowd jokes will never get old... ever.

But it's not so much the cost. That isn't really a huge deal, it's just tarnishing their overall image of this flagship vehicle and their brand.

that's what happens when you have publications that hire people with little experience driving a wide range of cars.
some sort of advanced training related to motorsports should be required, at least then the feedback they'll have for us will be that much more valuable.

Hmmm.... I'm thinking $18k in damages... if this was the price is right however, I would say $1.

$18k at best that if it's repaired in a way it should with every last inch looked at and inspected for damage and made to look new. Even right down to the paint which for all we know could require a special process to be in an OEM condition; meeting the right depth, color, etc.

I'm sure it doesn't cost much for Honda themselves to make the repairs, but for the average person like us, that repair bill is going to sting especially with a new car. Hope this never happens to me.

Well of course they're not paying the mark up on parts that you pay, if it's just an internal issue and the cost is covered by Honda it will be at least 15% cheaper than it coming out of some individuals pocket or an insurance company.... it's like anything you buy.
