But maybe this time it’s legitimate. Someone is auctioning off their order spot on Ebay for the new Acura NSX and it’s not the first time we’ve seen something like this.
Last month, someone from New York posted their spot for sale on Craigslist and they claimed to be the first in line to receive a NSX. This time a seller has posted up a customer information sheet along with the ad and claims that this is for slot number one at Buerkle Acura located in Minneapolis. He's not certain of it, but he thinks this may be the slot for serial #002 since serial #001 was auctioned off at Barrett Jackson. They claim to have put the deposit down on July 26, 2012, a more believable date than 2011.
Starting bid is $50,000 with a “Buy It Now” price of $100,000 but this is just for a place in line and so far, no one has placed a bid on it. If someone actually does place a bid and win, they will be put in contact with the dealership and the order slot in the seller’s name will be transferred over.
Think this ad is legitimate? He did upload a picture of the production NSX under his Lamborghini LP550-2 along with the document scan but then again, this is Ebay and they don’t exactly check for legitimacy when it comes to listings.
Smart move since there might be people outside of the US that really want it, that have a lot of money, but not the sort of access some Americans have. Surely there will be some Saudi's and those in Dubai that will look into it.
