NSX to Pace Pikes Peek

Before the cars start their run on Sunday they'll line up behind the new NSX for a parade lap up the hill.

Great livery that they have on it. Its cool that they are placing cameras along the course so we can watch it do the climb.

To show off the run, Acura will install 24 cameras along the course to capture the car’s progress, which will allow fans to watch the entire run up the hill live.

I know right.

wouldn't be all too surprised if owners pull some styling cues from that livery for their own theme, it's at least what I would do!

Here's a video that gets "up close and personal" with the PPIHC Pace Car.

Bloomberg has an exclusive look at running the NSX up the mountain. Fascinating how they've turned a normally engaging subject into something dryer then leftover toast...

I mean it is Bloomberg. They aren't exactly looking to be the most entertaining news service. The whole basis of that media consortium is a focus on business.

On the plus side we did get to hear bit of how the NSX sounds, that was much more interesting to me.

Most of what else was said isn't new to any of us.

Car and Driver also published their take on the NSX hitting Pikes Peak:

The New Acura NSX Is Your Pikes Peak Pace Car – News – Car and Driver | Car and Driver Blog

Quote:
Unfortunately, we won’t get to see the full potential of the new NSX in this role—the car’s claimed 550-plus horsepower twin-turbo V-6, nine-speed paddle-shift transmission, Sport Hybrid electrical assist, and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive of this specially prepped but mostly stock NSX probably won’t be pushed to the max as it leads the field of 140 entrants to the top of the 14,110-foot peak. Not that the car’s components couldn’t be: The wheelman will be Sage Marie, senior head of Honda’s U.S. public-relations team and a road racer who has competed twice at Pikes Peak.
